One licence, the Apache License 2.0, for the program and for this manual.

Every source file carries SPDX-License-Identifier: Apache-2.0. The full text is in LICENSE, and NOTICE lists the third-party material Quilzo carries.

What you may do

Use Quilzo for any purpose, change it, and distribute it or your changes, as source or as a binary, in an open or a closed product, for free or for a fee. You need no permission, no key and no conversation. Each contributor also grants a licence to the patents of theirs that their contribution needs. That patent licence ends for anyone who sues claiming Quilzo infringes a patent.

What it asks of you

  • When you distribute Quilzo or a work based on it, give recipients a copy of the licence and the attribution notices in NOTICE.
  • Mark the files you changed as changed.
  • Keep the copyright, patent, trademark and attribution notices in the source.

Running Quilzo as a service, changed or not, asks nothing further. The licence does not grant use of the Quilzo name beyond saying where your work came from. Quilzo is provided as is, without warranty.

The material by others that Quilzo carries, such as the Go standard library compiled into every binary, stays under its own licence. NOTICE names each one, and releases and the container image carry LICENSE and NOTICE.

There is one Quilzo

No feature is held back for a paid edition, and no code path depends on a licence key. Single sign-on, SCIM, access control and the audit log are in the program you clone.

Contributing

Contributions are made under the Apache License 2.0 with a sign-off, and copyright stays with you. There is no contributor licence agreement. CONTRIBUTING.md has the details, and GOVERNANCE.md says how the project is run.

This manual carries the same licence.
